Ágnes Máger graduated from the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts in 1971. Her masters were Simon Sarkantyú and Endre Domanovszky. In the early days of her career the painter was influenced by the art of Lajos Szalay and Béla Kondor. Awards and scholarships: 1972-75: Derkovits scholarship, 1974: Winter Exhibition - Miskolc City Award, 1976: Spring Exhibition, Salgótarján, 1978: Hungarian Lands, National Landscape Biennial, Hatvan - Silver Diploma, 1979: Bytom (PL) - Polish Trade Union Award, 2010: Muse Award, Miskolc. Since 1971 she lives in the artist colony of Miskolc. Beyond performing lightly painted landscape-atmospheres Agnes also likes to make theatrical costumes, portraits, religious art creations and illustrations as well. She is attracted to the grotesque, the absurd, and the ironic. She is active in a wide range of fine arts, as well as scenic tasks (costume and set design). www.mageragnes.hu |
