eBIT BCP Services: A comprehensive solution

According to our philosophy, if you want to create a business continuity plan, you should base it on a holistic, enterprise-wide view. The plan should be supported by both a sound risk assessment and a subsequent impact analysis.  With this support, your company can more easily convince the business stakeholders to accept the need to implement the plan.

eBIT will not only provide you with the above support, but wewill also help you fully implement a BCP: from plan conception to plan roll-out and training.  To better understand our BCP process, you can find below the phases of our BCP development and implementation.

  • Risk Assessment: in this phase, we identify and document all potential threats, including the probability of their occurrence and also their impact.  Based on this, you can consider and rate your internal and external risks so that your business can make prudent decisions on which risks to treat and which to accept. We can also assess your business-wide systems, applications and functions in order to establish how long your business can effectively operate if any of them shut down.
  • Business Impact Analysis: we quantify and qualify particular outage impacts to the entire business, which will enable you to prioritize resources accordingly. You will find this analysis to be an essential tool for making risk management decisions, because you can use it to determine the level of funding necessary for effectively (i) minimizing your company’s vulnerability to residual risks and (ii) maximizing the ROI of your company’s investment in continuity planning.
  • BCP Development: Once we complete the first two phases, we will work with you to identify an appropriate Continuity Strategy.  We will help you determine the right strategy by taking into consideration the size and complexity of your organization. Once you select the appropriate strategy, we will draft emergency procedures for all critical functions and applications. As an added precaution, we will incorporate manual procedures to circumvent the applications and systems in the event of a system shut-down.  These manual procedures will help your organization continue operating - albeit in a degraded mode - until normal services and resources can be restored.
  • BCP Testing, Training and Awareness: After we develop the BCP, you will need to properly test the plan to ensure its effectiveness. We will help with this testing process by providing testing scripts, which evaluate each and every part of the plan and help rectify any discrepancies that are identified.  We can also help conduct training and awareness programs to ensure that all employees are familiarized with the plan and can follow the necessary steps in the event of a disaster.

To help you utilize your BCP, we offer our purpose-oriented BCP tool: COR+.  COR+ is our easy to use software tool, which can assist in the management of the plan content by supporting the planning phases above. COR+ also incorporates guidelines from BS 25999. The software contains customizable cross-linked templates to facilitate the planning process, along with a reporting module to easily retrieve information. COR+ is a database driven tool that makes updating information an easy task.
